Anthony Boric came of age in the 2007 Super 14, showing he had the physical attributes and athleticism to handle this level of rugby.
An excellent lineout forward, Boric made a real impact for the Blues in 2008 and was deservedly selected for the All Blacks, playing 10 tests that year.
A broken toe sustained against the Reds in 2009 which required surgery kept Anthony Boric sidelined for five months before he returned to action for North Harbour in the Air New Zealand Cup.
But he impressed enough with his limited game time to earn a place on the All Blacks’ end of year tour to Europe and consolidated his position in the All Blacks in 2010 after another impressive season with the Blues.
Boric continued his fine form in 2011 and was deservedly selected in the All Blacks squad that won the Rugby World Cup.
