Arguably the form player for the Blues in 2009 before his season was cut short through injury, Chris Lowrey received the Blues' Rookie of the Year award in 2009.
Further illness and injury, coupled with Viliami Ma'afu establishing himself as the first choice number 8, curtailed his progress with the Blues in 2010 but he rediscovered his form in 2011, stepping up in the face of an injury crisis to play lock as well as his preferred position of loose forward.
The 2004 Mount Albert Grammar School head boy has tremendous speed, strong cover defence and was selected to play for the NZ Colts against Canada in 2007.
