John Afoa

John Afoa is a powerful, explosive prop who has risen through the ranks to become one of New Zealand’s leading forwards. 

He is just 27 but already has 83 Super Rugby games to his name – plus 27 tests for the All Blacks. 

A talented ball player, Afoa will again look to dominate his side of the scrum, and take every opportunity to show his impressive running and handling skills in open play. 

He has also proven to be an extremely versatile player and has added another string to his bow by working on his lineout throwing to offer cover at hooker.

Interestingly Afoa played every minute of the Blues’ 2006 Rebel Sport Super 14 season, the only forward to do so.
