Charles Piutau

26 Oct 2014

Charles Piutau has developed into a world class performer in an incredibly short space of time. Brought into the Blues squad to cover injuries at the tail end of the 2012 season, Piutau shone in his first full Super Rugby season in 2013, regularly troubling attacking sides with his robust defence and burning off defenders who tried to stop him on attack.

A fleet-footed fullback and one of the fastest men in New Zealand rugby, Piutau’s strong form for the Blues was rewarded with a call-up to the All Blacks in 2013 and he took his game to another level, earning 10 caps.

Piutau was the top try scorer for the New Zealand Under 20s team in their 2011 Junior World Championship-winning campaign. He also starred for the All Blacks Sevens team that won the World Series in 2011/12.
